Blog Tour Review & Giveaway - Aurora Sky & Northern Bites, by Nikki Jefford

The second I saw that Xpresso Book Tours was hosting a blog tour for both novels, I didn't need to read any further. I was lucky enough to have read Aurora Sky before and really enjoyed the story. Being able to continue the series and read Northern Bites as part of another tour was a complete bonus.

You can read my review for Aurora Sky HERE. It was rated a 4 star, but it was a weak 4 star for me because I struggled with the beginning of this story.

Northern Bites, on the other hand, is definitely not a weak 4.

Love bites.
Probation sucks.

Thanks to Dante’s recklessness, Aurora is now partners with Valerie: the redheaded, backstabbing vixen.

Dante is in full flirt mode. Fane’s tactics are more ruthless. Something carnal has awakened in Aurora and neither boy is helping tame her cravings.

When a member of the unit’s team is found dead, Aurora and Valerie are sent after a vampire in Sitka, but Aurora suspects the killer’s much closer to home.

Where in the first book it took me a little while to get into the story, this was not the case with the second book. This novel hits the ground running from the beginning.

Aurora is a whole lot more bad ass. I definitely got the feeling, right off the bat, that she is a lot more comfortable with the role she was forced to play.  Unfortunately, she is paired up with one of her least favorite people, Valerie. She is just as unpleasant in this installment, as she was in the first.  But I have to say, there is something about her that I learned to respect.

Though I expected Aurora and Fane's situation to change in this installment, I was pleasantly surprised to see Dante play a bigger romantic role in her life besides mentor.  I felt their chemistry in the first novel, and it was very potent in this one.  It will be interesting to see how this love triangle will develop into later installments.

There was an interesting twist in this book that I didn't anticipate, and yet didn't surprise me. From the beginning I was suspicious that there was more to this agency than met the eye. I have a feeling that there will be more surprises to come.
