Book Review - Play, By Kylie Scott

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn't plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn't count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she'd ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn't end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Have you ever had a literary crush? I have never been so in love with a character as much as I am with Malcolm from this book! Malcolm is hilarious, his sarcastic humor really gets me! And to top it off he is also very smart, sexy and oh so sweet! Kylie Scott did an amazing job creating this character!
Anne, the female protagonist, is just as funny... she threw the witty replies right back at Malcolm. I loved their banter, never backing down from each other. it made me like the characters connection that much more.

There wasn't a lot of drama in this book, well not as much as the first book "lick". I felt like I was on edge, waiting for more to happen, and when it didn't I was a little disappointed. I loved getting the little snippets about Evelyn & David (from book one "Lick") and where they are after their story was told.

Overall this book was very good, it wasn't as good as the first book, however it still dug its way into my heart and pulled on those strings. Especially because I just love Malcolm so much! A much deserved 3 stars for this book. I cant wait to read the next book of the Stage dive series "Lead"!
